I learned to ride motorized, two-wheeled transportation on a scooter while visiting a friend of my Dad's in east Texas somewhere. That eventually led to the purchase of a Suzuki dirt bike just before my 15th birthday. I remember killing the engine a hundred times (at least) while my brother patiently tried to teach me how to gradually let out the clutch.
